Connecting Dropbox

Sync contracts from Dropbox to DealView for automatic import and organization.

Connect Dropbox to automatically import contracts into DealView. Keep your contract library synchronized with your Dropbox folders.

Prerequisites

Before connecting:

  • Dropbox account (any plan)
  • Contracts stored in Dropbox
  • Admin access to DealView workspace

Connecting Dropbox

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Find Dropbox in the Cloud Storage section
  3. Click Connect
  4. Sign in to Dropbox
  5. Authorize DealView access
  6. Select folders to sync
  7. Connection confirmed
Permissions

DealView requests read-only access to selected folders only. We cannot modify or delete your Dropbox files.

Selecting Folders

Choose which folders to sync:

  1. After connecting, click Configure
  2. Browse your Dropbox structure
  3. Select folders containing contracts
  4. Click Save

Only selected folders are scanned for contracts.

Supported File Types

DealView imports these file types from Dropbox:

  • PDF documents
  • Word documents (.docx, .doc)
  • Text files (.txt)

Non-contract files (images, spreadsheets) are skipped.

Initial Sync

After connecting:

  1. DealView scans selected folders
  2. Contract files are queued for import
  3. AI analysis runs on each contract
  4. Progress shown in sync status
Large Libraries

Initial sync of large folder structures may take time. Progress is shown in the integration status panel.

Ongoing Sync

After initial import:

  • New files in selected folders are detected
  • Changes sync at regular intervals
  • Manual sync available anytime

Sync Settings

Configure sync behavior:

Folder Mapping

Map Dropbox folders to DealView folders:

  1. Go to integration settings
  2. Click Folder Mapping
  3. Assign DealView folders to Dropbox sources
  4. New imports go to mapped folders

Sync Status

View sync status:

  • Last Sync - When sync last ran
  • Files Synced - Total imported
  • Pending - Awaiting import
  • Errors - Failed imports

Handling Conflicts

When duplicate files are detected:

  • Skip if already imported
  • Update if file modified
  • Create new if different name

Manual Sync

Force an immediate sync:

  1. Go to integration settings
  2. Click Sync Now
  3. Sync runs immediately
  4. View results when complete

Disconnecting

To remove Dropbox integration:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Find Dropbox
  3. Click Disconnect
  4. Confirm disconnection

Imported contracts remain in DealView. Future syncs stop.

Troubleshooting

Folders not appearing?

  • Check Dropbox permissions
  • Verify folders contain supported files
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting

Sync not running?

  • Check sync frequency setting
  • Verify integration is still connected
  • Look for error messages

Files not importing?

  • Confirm file type is supported
  • Check file isn't corrupted
  • Verify file size under limit (50MB)

Best Practices

  1. Organize first - Structure Dropbox folders logically
  2. Name clearly - Use descriptive file names
  3. Select specifically - Only sync contract folders
  4. Monitor regularly - Check sync status weekly
