Setting Up DocuSign

Connect DocuSign to send contracts for signature directly from DealView and track signing status.

Integrate DocuSign to send contracts for electronic signature without leaving DealView.

Prerequisites

  • DocuSign account (any paid plan)
  • Admin permission in your DealView workspace
  • Contracts ready for signature in DealView

Connecting DocuSign

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Find DocuSign and click Connect
  3. Sign in to your DocuSign account
  4. Grant DealView permission to send envelopes
  5. Click Accept to complete
Permissions

DealView requests permission to send documents and check envelope status. We cannot access other DocuSign envelopes.

Sending for Signature

From any contract:

  1. Open the contract detail page
  2. Click Send for Signature
  3. Select DocuSign as the provider
  4. Add recipients:
    • Name and email
    • Signing order (if sequential)
    • Role (Signer, CC, etc.)
  5. Add signature fields (drag to position)
  6. Include a message (optional)
  7. Click Send

The contract is sent via DocuSign immediately.

Recipient Roles

RoleCan
SignerMust sign the document
CCReceives a copy, no action needed
In Person SignerSigns in person on your device
ApproverApproves but doesn't sign

Signing Order

For multi-signer contracts:

  • Parallel - All signers receive simultaneously
  • Sequential - Signers receive in order (next after previous completes)

Set order numbers (1, 2, 3...) for sequential signing.

Tracking Status

View signature status:

  1. Go to Contracts
  2. Look for the Signature status column
  3. Or open a contract and view the Signatures tab

Status values:

  • Sent - Waiting for signatures
  • Viewed - Recipient opened the document
  • Signed - One or more have signed
  • Completed - All signatures collected
  • Declined - A signer declined
  • Voided - You canceled the request

Signature Actions

From the Signatures tab:

  • Resend - Send reminder to pending signers
  • Void - Cancel the signature request
  • Download - Get the signed document
  • View in DocuSign - Open in DocuSign console
Auto-Download

When all signatures are collected, DealView automatically downloads the fully-signed document and updates your contract record.

Templates

Use DocuSign templates for recurring documents:

  1. Create templates in DocuSign
  2. In DealView, click Send for Signature
  3. Choose Use Template
  4. Select your template
  5. Fill in recipient details
  6. Send

Bulk Sending

Send multiple contracts for signature:

  1. Select contracts in the contract list
  2. Click Send for Signature in bulk actions
  3. Configure common settings
  4. Add per-document recipients
  5. Send all
DocuSign Limits

Bulk sending is subject to your DocuSign plan's envelope limits.

Troubleshooting

Connection failed?

  • Ensure you have a DocuSign paid plan
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting
  • Check your DocuSign account status

Send failed?

  • Verify recipient email addresses
  • Check the document isn't corrupted
  • Ensure you have envelopes remaining

Status not updating?

  • Status updates may take a few minutes
  • Click Refresh on the Signatures tab
  • Check DocuSign console for issues

Disconnecting

To remove the integration:

  1. Go to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Click Disconnect on DocuSign
  3. Confirm

Pending signature requests continue in DocuSign but won't sync status to DealView.
